Star Wars Battlefront: 10 Crippling Issues That Must Be Fixed
6. Longevity To Gameplay - Play Your Class
There are ranged rifles and shorter blasters in SWB, but right now - and for the foreseeable future, as the game doesn't favour class-builds - it's straight-up "I can hit the right trigger faster than you!" territory. Maybe it's just not a route they're going down, being EA are making a game for one of the biggest entertainment properties of all time, but all the same this is being put together by DICE - the Battlefield guys - and they know how to program a shooter that keeps people enthralled for months, if not years, after release. Honestly, it feels like you can see everything SWB has to offer gameplay-wise within about 20 minutes, the remaining hold it'll have on you being a mix of love for the source material and online shooters in general. Playing as the heroes is a mad flail to see how many people you can cut down as possible, but for everyone else on both sides of the Imperial/Rebel divide, we all play exactly the same (even having the same guns). Let's have snipers holding back, assault guys with more health up the front, the middle ranks filled by mid-range firearms and specced-up grenade-throwers - the entire thing led by that sides' respective hero calling the shots. It could be glorious.
