Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - 10 Details The Teaser Secretly Revealed
6. Is This Cal's Old Clone Unit?
EA
While it's a given we'll get to know more of Cal in the months leading up to Fallen Order's release, one scene that is a little more difficult to place involves the character on an unknown forest planet. If you look closely, you can see him stood over a deceased clone trooper, and it may be the key to figuring out the date of Fallen Order and Cal's role in the Clone Wars.
Not to venture too far into speculative territory, but It might be possible that this is where Cal's unit betrayed him and his master. He picks up a hologram that issued the command for Order 66, and he looks mournful in that shot. Clearly something of great significance has happened here.
The trooper Kestis is stood over is donned in green markings. Fortunately, not many clone units wore green, and while fans may instantly think of the 41st Elite Corps who served under Yoda at Kashyyyk, it's far more likely that the trooper here belongs to the 442nd Siege Battalion, who've received little to no exploration in either the Legends or present canon.
That presents a great opportunity for Respawn, and with the Battalion's most famous engagement being on Cato Neimoida - a lush green planet that looks similar to the one seen in the trailer - could that be a destination we see in the game too?
WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well.
In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
