Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy PS4 Review
Is the force strong with this remaster?
Rating: ★★★★
Platform: PS4
Star Wars games are now in a healthy place. Battlefront 2 has been fixed after the industry-wide controversy it caused at launch, Jedi Fallen Order proved to EA that there is still a place for single-player narrative-based titles that have no microtransactions, but on top of that, fans have been treated to something a little extra.
Late 2019 it was announced on a Nintendo Direct that Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast was being ported to modern consoles, which might’ve been the most left-field announcement to come from one of these tightly crafted presentations. Though what escaped most, is that Academy returned with its legendary multiplayer.
Carrying on the lineage Academy delivers the same great lightsaber and first-person shooter combat, but with almost, a completely different take as the heavier story beats have been traded out for more a galactic planet-hopping adventure as the player learns the way of the force.
Now the second in this classic run of games has dropped, is it worth the super low price of admission, or is it just a bunch of Bantha Poodoo and was Jedi Outcast enough to whet our appetites for different Star Wars games?
