Super Mario Run Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

9. It Sounds Great Too

Mario wouldn't be Mario without the music and sound effects. Take away the addictive sound of Mario collecting coins, grabbing a Mushroom, stomping on a Goomba...even the little "hah!" he makes while jumping, it all contributes to the overall feel of what a Super Mario Game is.

That's not to mention the music, either, which is about as iconic as video game music comes. From the classic over world theme to the classic underground theme to the classic...well, it's all classic, isn't it?

Again, it might be based on the music from the New Super Mario Bros. series, but it's been spiced up a bit, with some extra instrumentation to make it stand out.

Super Mario Run's music is as catchy as ever, and sounds great coming from the iPhone's speakers or headphones. Within seconds you'll be humming along.
