3. Different Powers/Playstyles
If you’re going to play as each character, they can’t just be reskinned versions of the same basic moves. Where Captain America, Thor and Hulk are brutal bruisers in hand to hand combat, Black Widow will be more quick and precise. Hawkeye might be the best at finding hard to reach vantage spots. Hulk may be difficult to fully maneuvre.
It’s little touches like this that will really sell that feeling of being these characters. All video games are escapism to some extent, but when they’re based on some of the most recognisable fictional characters of our time, that feeling is doubled and then some. They aren’t building new action stars here, they’re putting together a triple-A game that could be the most anticipated in a generation.
Spider-Man’s web swinging allowed you to become Peter Parker, but before that the Batman: Arkham series nailed what it felt like to virtually don the superhero costume.
