The Division 2 Review: 10 Ups & 4 Downs

1. The UI Is Frustratingly Messy

In fairness, the game's user interface isn't bad: it's certainly functional enough in terms of getting to where you need to go fast, but like so many games in the genre, it also feels like it could have a neater and more consistent design.

The main issue is that there are so many aspects of The Division 2's various gameplay systems that the game doesn't really bother explaining.

The new PVP mode Conflict, for example, is barely mentioned in-game, and so you can easily miss the fact that it's tucked away in the left-hand side of the main map menu. This might explain why, in my experience, finding 8 players for a game of Conflict has proven a bit tricky.

Even to players well-acquainted with the original, this game can be a daunting experience with the sheer wealth of content and mechanics it throws at you, and a more unified UI would help to tie everything together in a more coherent fashion.

Again, this isn't a deal breaker and you do get used to it after some time, but a blockbuster AAA game such as this really should be able to do better when it comes to intuitive menu design.

These gripes aside, The Division 2 is however a mostly great game, and here's every reason why...
