On the subject of mods, it's almost certain that these will return with the next Elder Scrolls game, especially as it's still being made in the Creation Engine that so many in the mod community are familiar with. And, it's just as certain that those mods will be available on consoles once more, alongside the Creation Club's pseudo-mods.

In fact, in an interview Todd Howard mentioned mods as one of the reasons why people were still playing Skyrim over eight years after its release.

"It's almost infinitely playable, all of the mods and everything like that. And we're 8 years post-Skyrim. It lets us know going into Elder Scrolls 6 that this is a game we need to design for people to play for a decade at least, at least."

Now, this has been reported on with some people saying that the game itself will have ten years worth of content. It's more likely that they view it as a platform that will allow people to still be picking it up and playing new adventures thanks to mods, or for new players to come in even ten years later because they've heard people talking about the game.
