2. The Akaviri May Finally Invade Tamriel
There are other location rumours flying around. One is that the game will be set in Black Marsh, land of the Argonians, although that started around the same time that the Black Marsh expansion of Elder Scrolls Online was in development.
Another, thanks to a "leak" of an unverified internal memo, assumes that we'll be visiting Valenwood, while another one, seemingly born from wishful thinking, looks towards Elsweyr, the land of the Khajiit.
If any of these is true then it's unlikely that the plague plot that people extrapolated from the possible title Redfall is true. So what could the game be about then?
One theory has a throwaway line in Morrowind foreshadowing the future of the Elder Scrolls franchise. Seen above, that line from Lloros mentions the Akaviri planning to invade again. Not seen in the games yet, these men were absorbed into the Tsaesci Empire, becoming terrifying snake-men.
Skyrim showed the last few days of a civil war, much like the one needed to weaken the empire before the Akaviri would risk an invasion. Could we be about to see them showing up at last? Would we have to join with our Skyrim enemies to fight them off?
