The Golden Joysticks Awards – The Likely Winners and the Dark Horses

One to Watch

With so many to choose from, and so little known about many, it is difficult to choose and accurately predict. So many games in the past few years have been nothing short of bitterly disappointing, so franchise extensions like the new Assassin€™s Creed and the Gears of War prequel should have judgement reserved. Bioshock Infinite has hit a rock in production, or so we hear, so that may turn out to be less than what is expected, and great ideas like The Elder Scrolls Online are so far looking less than promising. My pick ultimately falls to Rome II: Total War. The Total War games never disappoint for quality and depth, and Rome, one of the most loved in the series, is being remade with a host of excellent new features. The live action trailer and the hints of gameplay seen look nothing short of astonishing, and I cannot wait for it.
