For every R. Lacros, there is a Valery. Solid, dependable and always there when you need him. A bit like France's own Gary Neville. Known as Valeny in later iterations of PES, the Frenchman was the definition of a Master League legend. A quiet leader, willing to put everything on the line for his team. A man who didn't care about media recognition, he simply wanted his team to win.

A graduate of the Clairefontaine academy, Valery was physically strong, quick and blessed with a fantastic ability to make last ditch sliding tackles. Furthermore, he was a monster in the air and capable of making a decent pass when the need arose. He made countless appearances for Europe's best teams and won almost every major club trophy. Not bad for a man who was entirely made up by Konami's programmers.

Sadly, Valery was overshadowed by Lilian Thuram and didn't get much game time for Les Blues. His quiet and composed nature that made him so good on the pitch, also led to him being criminally overlooked off of it. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he bore such a close resemblance to Thuram that confused managers. Cough, cough, Konami....

According to some very dedicated retro PES fans, he returned to his native virtual Saint Barthélemy where he now fulfills the role of player-coach for the Les Barracudas rugby team.
