The Greatest Video Game Football Team Of All Time
9. CB - Taribo West (Championship Manager 2001/02)
Taribo West, the man, the myth, the legend. Famed for flamboyant hairstyles and for being one of the early pioneers in Europe for African football. Technically gifted, but not blessed with great pace, he relied on his ability to read the game in order to thwart opposing attackers.
While he was a solid player in real life, it was in the world of Championship Manager where he shone brightest. A go-to player in many of the CM and FM games of the early 2000', his prime came in the 2001/02 edition. Being a free agent made him an attractive proposition for many players, yet it was how his real life skills were interpreted on the game that ensured his cult hero status.
A rock at the back with enough skill to play in midfield, West was the perfect man to complement and bolster defenses. His ability to play in midfield also made him something of a tactical trump card when defending narrow advantages. Having a maverick side to his playing style also meant that he could pitch in with a few goals every season.
Alongside Koltarii, they would make an ideal partnership. Something akin to Alessandro Costacurta and a green-dreadlocked Franco Baresi.
