The Last Of Us Part 2: 14 Tiny Details That'll Blow Your Mind
8. Bear's Fate
To be honest, this was a detail I totally missed on my first playthrough, but you can't blame me. Chances are, the first time through TLOU 2 you're going to be killing a whole load of dogs. You might not feel good about it, but the way they can follow your scent makes them extremely dangerous, and they've got to be dispatched quickly so you can sneak around the environment without being hounded.
Of course, in its attempt to humanise every enemy in the game, the second half spends a good chunk of time making you feel bad for doing this. The first example comes when you're introduced to Alice, one of the only dogs you're forced to kill (in a particularly brutal manner) to advance the story.
There is another named canine though, called Bear. There's a good chance you'll shoot this one early on as Ellie, and hear its owner cry out its name in response. Later on, while playing as Abby, you'll be reintroduced to the animal who - by all accounts - is a good boy.
