The Single Most Annoying Part Of Every Main Series Zelda Game

3. The Introduction - Twilight Princess

As the gameplay in each entry of the Zelda series became more intricate, the games tended to start with a tutorial. Because the player is probably desperate to explore, these tutorials are usually very brief. It only takes 20 minutes to reach the first level in Ocarina of Time. Although you couldn't leave the hub of Majora's Mask for an hour, you still had a lot of freedom where you could go.

The same cannot be said for Twilight Princess since you're unable to leave Link's hometown for three hours. And when you finally leave, you're transformed into a wolf and locked in a dungeon! It's like the game doesn't you want you to explore!

You could defend this drawn-out tutorial, saying it was necessary to understand the mechanics before being thrust into the main game. However, Breath of the Wild begins by throwing Link into the centre of Hyrule with little explanation, forcing the player to figure everything out themselves.

The tutorial was meant to be three times shorter but the developers expanded it to ensure the player got use to the Wii controls before exploring the main game. Nevertheless, the introduction is a slog, especially when you replay Twilight Princess.
