The Witcher 3 DLC Wishlist: 8 Things Fans Demand

7. Monsters That Demand Variety In Approach To Take Down

Unless you're playing on a higher difficulty, the playstyle you've built up (which Mutagens you've equipped and which coloured chains you've been filling out) doesn't really matter outside of personal preference. Save for certain characters, cutscene prompts and Geralt himself mentioning you should "probably brew some potions", I can attest to the fact I never really needed them across my 120+ hour run. In future DLC, let's see some unique creatures or hybridised beasts that require a few different approaches to bring down or open up their weak spots. Perhaps lay down Yrden on something to stop it in its tracks, lob a particular bomb in to weaken it, and then wade in for the kill, doing extra damage if you applied a certain oil? These elements are already in the game, but save from a couple of choice encounters against Witcher-contracted Wraiths, you'll very rarely have to vary up your playstyle from equipping Quen and occasionally busting out Igni or Aard to mix it up.
