The Witcher 4 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Demand

7. Explore Entirely New Places

The Witcher books and games alike have been mentioning faraway lands like Ofir and Zerrikania. The mentions are scattered in the lore, items and ingame books. Why not let the player travel there?

While gorgeously laid out and rendered, the terrain in The Witcher 3 was not very diverse. It was mostly the same hilly wooded plains from one edge of the map to the next, the only noticeably different area being the Skellige islands with their fjords and snowy mountains. Sending the player to unexplored lands like Zerrikania could fix that, introducing deserts, jungle and whatever the developers want to: since those lands were not thoroughly described in the book, there’s little standing in the way of CD Projekt’s imagination.

Or we could go to Nilfgaard, and explore the intrigue at the heart of the oppressive empire. This would likely mean more city-centered, political adventure, but unless monsters have gone extinct in the South, there’s alway room for witcher work.

The Witcher 3 also gave us glimpses of other worlds, explored with the magic of Ciri, Avallac’h and the Wild Hunt itself. With a blank cheque like that, the devs are free to dazzle players with any number of fantastic locations.
