The Witcher 4 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Demand

6. A Larger, Seamless World

The Witcher 4
CD Projekt RED

The world of Witcher 3 is not exactly small, but the way it’s broken up really stands in the way of the ultimate epic feel.

Imagine if instead of a few medium-sized sandboxes with loading screens in between we could explore a vast, seamless open world incorporating all of the game’s locations. By the time a Witcher 4 comes to be, advancing technology should allow for open worlds that would dwarf any Bethesda has created to date.

This could be tricky when combined with the new locations from the previous page – after all, the deserts of Zerrikania suggest a vastly different landscape from the fjords of Skellige. But with clever use of mountain passes, river fords and other natural dividing lines, nothing is impossible.

Layer the open world with the ongoing war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms, and you get contested territories, vast armies marching and clashing, border outposts and guerilla warfare – all set in the gritty, down to earth, no-nonsense Witcher style.
