THQ's Comeback: 7 Other Video Game Franchises That Need Reviving

Nintendo's infamous as a studio that relies on stalwart franchises like Zelda or Mario to consistently iterate on genre-defining games. However, F-Zero just hasn't received the same levels of attention that it deserves, having now been out of action long enough for an entire generation of gamers to be completely ignorant of it.

The last F-Zero game that was seen outside of Japan was the Game Boy Advance title F-Zero: GP Legend, so it's about time that Captain Falcon and the cavalcade of bizarre racers made a return.

Bring back an overblown story mode, bring back a host of unique vehicles, but most importantly, bring back the rewarding, high-speed gameplay that's been sorely missing from Nintendo consoles. We got Wipeout back on the PlayStation 4, so why hasn't an F-Zero remaster or new title shown up?

With the release of Mario Kart 8 Tracks "Mute City" and "Big Blue" and the everlasting presence of Captain Falcon in the Smash Bros. franchise, there's at least hope that we might yet get to leap behind the anti-gravity racer, but as yet there hasn't been anything hinting at a resurgence of the blisteringly fast racing series.
