THQ's Comeback: 7 Other Video Game Franchises That Need Reviving
2. Dino Crisis
Almost every entry in Capcom's main Resident Evil series have now been at least remastered, and now we can await the next numbered entry to follow in the footsteps of the excellent Resident Evil VII. However, Resident Evil wasn't always the only survival horror franchise that was frightening our socks off. Whatever happened to Dino Crisis?
Whilst opinions on the franchise might have been soured by the original Xbox exclusive Dino Crisis 3 for poor camera control and frustrating minor gameplay issues, there's a lot of potential for returning to a survival horror franchise that isn't afraid to go more than a little bit off the wall.
The criticisms levelled at Dino Crisis as "Resident Evil, but with dinosaurs" might have been apt on the original PlayStation, but now Capcom could differentiate the two with a new Dino Crisis being a tense, puzzle-heavy third person horror game alongside new Resi titles, which appear to now be more immersive, first person horror experiences.
Seeing the T-Rex burst through the window to threaten protagonist Regina is arguably just as iconic as Resident Evil's infamous undead dog scares, and with Capcom's Resi 2 remaster looking especially promising, it's finally time to save Dino Crisis from extinction.
