TYOA: 8 Gaming Dialogue Choices That BETRAYED You

4. "Did You Get All That?" - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and its infamous trolling owl is less a case of the dialogue itself being misleading than it being presented by Nintendo in a way primed to piss everyone the hell off.

As you enter Hyrule Field for the first time early in the seminal action-adventure classic, you'll encounter the aforementioned owl by the name of Kaepora Gaebora, who will instruct you how to use the game's map and navigate the world.

At the end of his interminable, rambling spiel you likely started impatiently skipping through, he asks, "Did you get all that?," but for reasons that will only ever be clear to Nintendo themselves, the top option is "No" rather than "Yes."

This means that if you were feverishly spamming the skip button to plow through this word-salad as fast as possible, you likely hit "No" by accident, causing the owl to start the speech all over again and forcing you to skip back through it.

To make it even more obvious that Nintendo was blatantly screwing with players, every time you encounter Kaepora Gaebora he switches around the "No" and "Yes" options, making it even more likely that you'll give the opposite of your intended answer.

Someone, somewhere was cackling like an absolute maniac when they came up with this nonsense.
