Nathan Drake may be the Indiana Jones-inspired "hero" of the Uncharted franchise, but the presentation of his character across the games continues to leave fans rather ambivalent.

After all, it's often half-joked that Nate is basically the world's most charming serial killer, given that players are tasked with killing several-thousand enemies while playing as him in the four mainline games.

There's a fundamental disconnect between the bloodthirstiness of Uncharted's gameplay and how Nate is presented as a slick, slippery rogue in its cinematics - a concept commonly referred to as "ludonarrative dissonance" in modern gaming discourse.

The point remains, though, that in his quest to plunder ancient treasure - which already puts him in pretty dicey territory, frankly - Nate has ended the lives of an absurd number of people.

Nate has presumably pruned this grim factoid from the record when recounting tales of his past adventuring to his daughter Cassie, no matter that we know the truth - and more importantly, Saint Nick does too.
