8 Video Game Protagonists Who Are DEFINITELY Getting Coal In Their Stockings

The villain protagonist of 2015's controversial isometric shoot 'em up Hatred is one of the most unrepentantly evil, nuance-devoid Bad Guy Protagonists in video game history.

The player character is a humanity-hating mass murderer whose single-minded goal is to kill as many people as possible, free of any distinct motivation or agenda.

To hammer home the sheer edginess of it all, the character is referred to only as "The Antagonist" and "Not Important" throughout, with the game's senseless, nihilistic ultra-violence apparently serving as a reaction to the very notion of video games as art.

Given that he kills literally millions of people at the end of the game by blowing up a nuclear reactor, he's basically as wicked as video game protagonists get.

And while he won't be having any more Christmases considering that he too dies at the end of the game, as a dude who lived life with so much casual disdain coursing through his veins and almost certainly hated Christmas too, he deserves all the coal.
