8 Video Games That RUINED Great Characters

2. Hunk - Resident Evil Requiem

Let's just say there's more than one reason that Resident Evil fans refer to Hunk as the Boba Fett of the survival horror franchise.

After making his debut in Resident Evil 2, Hunk became a near-mythic fan favourite character, renowned for being an elite mercenary capable of surviving even the most dire of situations - hence his totally badass nicknames, The Grim Reaper and Mr. Death.

Much like Boba Fett, Hunk's sheer coolness combined with his compellingly mysterious aura made him an instant hit with fans, no matter the sparseness of his screen time throughout the franchise.

So many were overjoyed when Hunk made a surprise reappearance in the recent Resident Evil Requiem... only for that joy to be replaced by despair in record time.

Ultimately Hunk rocks up and gets geeked out by Leon in a two-minute boss fight that does a pure disservice to Hunk's status as one of the toughest, hardiest characters in the entire series.

And while some fans refuse to believe Hunk died because his body vanishes - as is Resident Evil tradition - c'mon, the guy had his throat slit by Leon with a hatchet. It's over.
