8 Villains Who Made Good On Their Second Chance
3. Darth Revan - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Few video game redemption arcs are more fascinatingly complex than that of Revan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Though Sith Lord Darth Revan is presumed to have been killed in a Jedi ambush at the start of the game, KOTOR's big twist is that the amnesiac protagonist actually is Revan themselves.
To be precise, Revan was a celebrated Jedi Knight who fell to the dark side, became a Sith Lord, and was then later captured by the Jedi.
The Jedi Council then promptly wiped their memories and imprinted them with a false identity as a member of the Republic Army.
Now to be fair, the end of the game does allow players to choose whether Revan stays the Light course or falls back to the Dark Side, though the Star Wars Legends continuity makes it clear that Revan stayed with the Light Side, defeated Malak, and destroyed the Star Forge.
That's one hell of a rollercoaster ride of allegiances alright, and while you can argue that Revan was effectively brainwashed into doing the right thing, the fact they canonically didn't relapse back to their Sith ways says it all.
