4. The Cover Star

Gracing the cover of a UFC game is something of a precarious honour. Although we aren't quite at Madden-curse levels of voodoo, it's fair to say that fighters haven't always fared well in the Octagon after being chosen to grace the cover of the organisation's newest video game.

For UFC 2, Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor graced the cover, though both would be defeated in their following fights to Amanda Nunes and Nate Diaz respectively. Likewise, Conor's second appearance on the cover of the previous game came just months before his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

With the Irishman's current UFC status unknown, it seems unlikely that the promotion will once again feature him on the cover despite being the most recognisable figure in the sport. At the moment, all signs appear to be pointing towards UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov gracing the front of the box, but we'll hopefully know for certain by the time the Fight Island announcement rolls around.
