Uncharted 4: 11 Things We Hated
5. Multiplayer Only Exists For Microtransactions
Once you've demolished Uncharted 4's campaign, you probably decided to try out the multiplayer suite, right?
It's a serviceable, entertaining selection of typical multiplayer modes given an Uncharted makeover, and though entertaining for a few rounds, likely isn't something you're going to be glued to forever more.
More than anything, it's apparent that the multiplayer was only shoved into the game for the sake of printing more money from it via microtransactions. In fairness, the Uncharted Points can only be used to buy silly cosmetic items rather than in-battle advantages, but with the cost of coins ranging from £3.99 for 500 to £39.99 for 10,000, it's clear that Naughty Dog are concerned less with the features and more with the financial prospects.
The polish of the campaign simply isn't present in the multiplayer: the visuals look nowhere near as strong, there's occasional stuttering (especially when you check your score), only three main modes, and it feels painfully tacked-on (which can't really be said for the previous two games).
