A major reason that many people get involved in this hobby and lose interest is they don’t have a local gaming group. Although the world is currently on lockdown and it is not possible to meet up for games, this shouldn’t stop you joining a local gaming group.

All around the world there are Warhammer stores and hobby shops that host and run local game nights for Warhammer. They also will have their own Facebook pages, subreddits, twitter feeds and may even have their own forums. From here you can meet like minded individuals and start up in mini campaigns and local tournaments.

These groups allow people who may feel a little alone in their hobby to join the wider community and potentially make some good friends along the way. Warhammer 40,000 is a tabletop game that is played over a few hours. It is incredibly sociable and can be a great boost to confidence and wellbeing.

Online gaming is brilliant, but nothing beats hanging out and rolling the dice.
