Watch Dogs 2 Review: 7 Ups & 6 Downs
Ups...
7. It Doesn't Take Itself Seriously At All
Tonal issues aside, Watch Dogs 2 is basically the game the first one should have been: the serious, dour tenor of the original is largely gone, instead employing bright visuals and a satirical tone more in line with the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
An early example of this focus on fun and humour has the player hacking into the home of a man clearly intended to parody douchebag entrepreneur Martin Shkreli, and if you listen up later on, you'll hear a hilarious conversation debating the merits of Aliens and Predators.
Also, though the central Dedsec characters can be a little on the irritating side, the game is at least smart enough to make them ripe for mockery as well, so everybody's fair game basically.
