WB REJECTED Rocksteady's Superman Game

But that doesn't mean he won't show up in the studio's next project.

Following the release of Arkham Knight, all leaks and rumours pointed towards one thing: Rocksteady would be moving away from Batman and tackling Superman with their next project. Not only were apparent leaks pointing towards it, but considering the team had a history of teasing their future games in new releases, the volume of references to Superman, Metropolis and Lex Luthor in Knight seemed to acknowledge it as well.

Somewhere along the way though, things changed gears. Rocksteady director Sefton Hill confirmed his team wasn't working on a Superman game, and the rumours shifted to suggest they were actually working on a Justice League project.

Now, according to James Sigfield of Geeks Worldwide, at one point Rocksteady did plan on making a Superman game, but their pitch was turned down by publisher WB. In a thread on Twitter, the writer explained that the studio planned on expanding on some features found in Knight - specifically the destruction tech - for their take on Supes.

WB rejected the project - as they allegedly did with two other pitches from different studios - and Rocksteady started work on something else.
