The Witcher 3: 8 Reasons It's The Game Of E3

4. It's Not Just Some More Shootery Nonsense

While those who've played the Witcher 3 will see familiarities with the first couple of games in the third title, this newest entry really seems to be revamping itself as a brand new experience we've never really had in a game. It's certainly inspired by the Witcher 2 in many ways, but there are elements of Dragon Age, Skyrim and Capcom's unappreciated RPG Dragon's Dogma thrown in for good measure. Even though this is the case, Wild Hunt still seems to be doing enough to differentiate itself from the pack and melding together great gameplay with spectacular graphics and a great sense of adventure. Obviously the showcase of the trailer, this ability and focus on the tracking of elaborately designed monsters through the wilderness is something we can't wait to see it in action more when the game comes out. Since the last generation of games was particularly dominated by shooters, the RPG was criminally underused. When they did come out, they delivered some of the best experiences of the generation. It's a shame, as RPGs often have so much more to offer than a bog-standard shooter but end up coming up short to gargantuan franchise such as Call of Duty. Perhaps there's a change in the air for this generation? Are we really ready to give up our shooters and embrace unique gaming experiences once more?
