Although earlier previews have shown us brief snippets of Geralt fighting in his latest adventure, the E3 2014 demo was the first time we really got to get to grips with the revamped combat system. What was particularly impressive was the seamless way it transitioned from gameplay to close-quarters without a hitch - within seconds Geralt was engaging enemies who had attacked him, using his twin swords and a combination of spells (with snazzy particle effects) to defeat his foes. From afar, it looked like a combat system that looks dynamic, tactical and absolutely brutal when it wants to be. Come on, you all know you secretly whooped inside when they showed you that you can literally chop people in half, didn't you? It looks like there's also going to be cinematic moments folded into the combat as well, as was shown when Geralt finished off the Griffin and carried its head back into a city. But seriously, how awesome was it to just measure a guy before promptly cleaving them straight in two?
