WWE 2K16 Release Date Confirmed
Exact date of release for the next WWE video game.
WWE 2K16 will be released in North America on October 27. Take Two sports confirmed the date at their annual earnings call on Monday, but stopped short on offering any further details about the video game. It is a hugely important release for both 2K and WWE. The game has a history of selling strongly and crossing over to more mainstream audiences. The game will be released on the next generation consoles, the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. It is reasonable to guess that older consoles will also support the game, with Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 releases still proving popular in the gaming market. Last year's WWE 2K15 release was the first WWE game to debut on the next generation platforms and it was significantly superior in its graphics. With this year's release, 2K will be striving to match those graphics with exciting gameplay, in addition to new fan pleasing modes. None of the 2K releases have been bad so far, but it is fair to say that the critical reception is yet to meet the commercial successes of the games. This year will be the big opportunity for 2K to push the game into the stratosphere, with the developers now fully experienced on what it takes to produce the game. Fans will eagerly be anticipating the late October release, now just five months away.
