WWE 2K17: 10 DLC Characters We Most Want
3. Roddy Piper
It seems insane that Roddy Piper hasn’t been added to WWE 2K17 at this stage, particularly given some of the “legends” that have already been confirmed. Rikishi? The Bushwhackers? Earthquake & Typhoon? Come on, now…
It’s worth mentioning that Piper was only included as a DLC character in last year’s incarnation. It’s highly likely that 2K Sports will go down the same route again, but as far as we’re concerned, he should be one of the first names on the legends list.
Simply put, Piper is one of the most important wrestlers in WWE history. He’s one of the sport’s all-time greatest talkers, and he was an iconic heel throughout the 1980’s, particularly during the Hulk Hogan feud. Piper was never a world champion, but he’s a former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion, a Hall-of-Famer, and he’s responsible for some of the industry’s most iconic moments. How can he not be featured?
2K16 did see a shockingly large number of legends included in the game’s final DLC pack. Most of these characters were included in 2K17’s base roster, though, and a similar splurge would see this year’s game flooded with 60+ legends. Piper’s omission is incredibly strange, and it’d be frustrating to see him not eventually included.
