WWE 2K17: 10 DLC Characters We Most Want

2. William Regal

William Regal has been a constant presence in WWE for the past 16 years. A Wellness Policy violation meant his singles career never quite took full flight after becoming King of the Ring, but he was an outstanding foreign heel, and a vitally important figure in the European and Intercontinental Title scene.

Regal was regularly putting-on great matches with the likes of Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho throughout his early career. He was a competent Commissioner and General Manager, and when his career moved away from active competition, Regal revealed his chops as NXT’s colour commentator. Currently parlaying a behind the scenes role with his position as NXT’s General Manager, Regal is a beloved figure at Full Sail University, and looks to have a job for life with WWE.

Aside from all this, William Regal has always been a world-class technical wrestler. With 2K’s recently revised grappling system, trying opponents in knots with Regal’s brutally effective moveset was one of 16’s great pleasures, and it was surprising to see him not included with 17’s initial roster.

2K Sports obviously don’t have enough room to include every single notable WWE alumni, but Regal is an immensely popular WWE figure even today. Besides, with Barrett gone, Neville and the Bulldog are 2K17’s only British roster members, and we can’t be having that, can we?
