WWE 2K17: 12 Awesome New Things You Can Do
1. Fighting In The Crowd And Backstage
Backstage Brawls are nothing new in WWE video games. Heck, they're one of the main reasons for making Just Bring It one of the best WWE games in history. How bloody satisfying was it to simply walk into one of those arrows on the floor and magically teleport into another room in the arena?
While we did get to head into a foyer and a plethora of different rooms back in the day, we've got two corridors, a locker room and Triple H's office to play with in 2K17. You get to these areas by either heading through the curtain or down the right hand side of the staging area if you imagine that you're looking at it head on.
While you are behind the curtain, if you will, you can run at objects and perform jumping attacks off them, send your opponents into a television screens and scare a couple of people off... it's better than nothing! The OMG Moments are the reason for this new feature in the game being worthwhile. There are plenty of them to explore and find.
Not only that, but you can also take a normal singles match into the crowd at the press of a button. Granted you only get a small slither of the audience to roam around, plus both sides of the ramp way to play in, but it's enough. You also get a trash can and table to use which is nice... heck, it happens in real life so it's only right that we have that option to play with in WWE's virtual universe.
When you're battling in these areas you'll see the animations change when striking which sees your opponent stumble backwards rather than taking a bump like they would if your match was still in the ring. Subtle differences like this is what makes WWE 2K17 potentially the most realistic wrestling game of all time. We all know that 2K made this conscious shift in their mentality and this is really shining through in this year's game.
