WWE 2K20: 7 Things It Does BETTER Than 2K19
7. Commentary In Backstage Brawls
The awkward silence that greeted those Wyatt Compound brawls in WWE 2K19 was perhaps a social commentary on the crushing isolation of Wyatt's social outcast status. Or, 2K were just too lazy to program it in, and somehow thought the sound of crickets playing in the background would be enough of a soundtrack.
Yeah, let's lean on the latter.
In 2K20, they've finally had their fill of insect lovemaking and thrown in some narration from Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. It's not perfect, mainly because commentary in WWE video games sucks hard, but at least it's there if you want it. This helps the presentation aspect of those backstage brawls in boiler rooms and beyond.
It's also where commentary is at its best. Graves, in particular, shoots off some great dry humour about characters like Daniel Bryan and New Day. They're best heard in between chair shots, not when characters are glitching through ropes.
