Is this necessarily just a small detail? Possibly not, but it's a point that's worth hammering home.

While it's easy to poke fun at how WWE 2K22 already feels a little out of date due to how over 30 superstars featured in the game are no longer employed by WWE, there is one giant silver lining to all of this.

Of course, that silver lining is that you already have brilliantly detailed character models of a multitude of stars who now find themselves working for Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling. With an AEW console game still a little ways away, it's understandable that some players will want to create their own AEW roster or product on WWE 2K22. On that front, this release does so much of the hard work for you.

The online creation centre already has some nicely done AEW arenas ready for you, plus a slew of All Elite wrestlers there to download. As for WWE 2K22 itself, it offers up flawless character models for nowadays AEW talents such as Buddy Matthews, Jeff Hardy, Keith Lee, Kyle O'Reilly, Swerve Strickland and William Regal.

Added to that, there's IMPACT Wrestling's Mickie James, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, plus hot free agents such as Athena, Biff Busick, Claudio Castagnoli, Killer Kross, Nixon Newell, Samoa Joe, Timothy Thatcher, 'Titan' Adam Scherr and Toni Storm,
