7. SURPRISE - Lucha House Party
With WWE being the land of the giants, it's no surprise that the small competitor will always get the shaft on TV. That's why the video games are great for the fantasy booker: you can give the cruiserweights the exposure they deserve. And no one was more deserving of recognition than the Lucha House Party, a great surprise inclusion for 2K22.
Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado teamed together following the debut of 205 Live and eventually made it to Raw & SmackDown where they were treated exactly how you'd expect; jobbed out to the bigger stars (but forget about the Lars Sullivan thing in Saudi). Kalisto distanced himself from the group but all three men were released in 2021: Kalisto in April, the other two in November.
These three cruiserweights will be huge fun to play as in the new game with the new engine hopefully allowing a lot of new freedom with their moves, and once again being a welcome addition to the oft-neglected tag team scene.
