It's only a minor Down, but it's something that's already caught the ire of many. Yes, we're talking about those timed objectives in WWE 2K25's Showcase.
Showcase has long featured objectives throughout its matches, with ticking off these objectives meaning you unlock new wrestlers, new variations of wrestlers, new arenas, new championships, etc. And while the regular objectives are present and accounted for in 2K25, there's the added bonus of one timed objective per match.
For example, as playing as Yokozuna in the first Showcase match, you're at one point given a 30-second window to land a couple of heavy attacks on Hulk Hogan in the corner of the ring. That in itself is pretty straightforward, but things become a little less straightforward if Hogan is out of the ring or isn't exactly cooperating. After all, the Hulkster is there to win a match, not to happily let you throw him into the corner and then launch two attacks on him.
Now, should you run out of time with these objectives, the match carries on as normal, but the catch is that you won't unlock the full selection of unlockable items attached to that particular contest.
Again, the inclusion of these timed objectives is only a minor quibble. More something that can be mildly frustrating rather than something that completely ruins the mode. Well, unless we're talking about the Money in the Bank match that you have to play with Tamina, but the less said about that annoyance, the better...
