4. Scalebound
Developer Platinum Games are a team we definitely need more of these days. Responsible for Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising to name but two, they've managed to build a reputation on delivering brutally-fast, extremely fun over-the-top third person action adventures in quick succession, whilst keeping them all individual along the way. For Scalebound they've essentially looked at Monster Hunter's general aesthetic and gone "Wouldn't that be more fun if the combat didn't move at one move an hour?", showing off this awesome-looking brawler that seems to be one-part taking care of your own weaponised beastie, and two-parts getting stuck into taking down the biggest ones around. It's worth remembering that so far there's no in-game footage available, but with a track record as solid and dependable as Platinum's this looks to be everything plenty people wish Monster Hunter was, except undoubtedly with a few more surprises tucked away inside when it comes to boss battles and using your own creature in combat.
