Xbox One vs PS4: 10 Key Features Both Sony And Microsoft Need To Improve Upon

3. Media Storage

One of the most infuriating missing features for both consoles is their inability to play all sorts of media content, from music to video files. For starters, it already eliminates custom soundtracks which became a feature welcomed with open arms last generation. Seriously, if I had to hear €œStarted from the Bottom€ by Drake one more time during NBA 2K14 I might have grabbed a pair of scissors and clipped my ears off. I actually had to mute most of the music when the entire issue could have been remedied by just letting me store some music on my HDD and playing it. It€™s also annoying that you can€™t watch video files either. With all the streaming apps and paid premium movie/music services being flaunted in your face, I guess it€™s no real surprise that these things are being phased out. Money trumps all when it comes to dominant corporations. Sony has issued a statement though admitting that they had no idea so many gamers flipped their consoles into primary media centers, and are actively looking to implement these features. Meanwhile, Microsoft just seems content with forcing Windows Media Center upon people.
