Yes, Assassin's Creed Valhalla Has Viking Rap Battles
Assassin's Creed meets 8 Mile in the new instalment.
The trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is finally here and it looks fantastic. As one of the first real showcases of next gen console gaming, Ubisoft have given us a gorgeous cinematic outlining the premise of the highly anticipated game.
However what it doesn’t mention is some of the features that will be available.
Head to the Ubisoft website and they offer more insight to the activities within. Away from the main storyline, players will be able to go fishing and hunting. Presumably will aid the player in restoring health or maybe work similar to previous games and be used for crafting purposes.
Gambling and drinking has naturally found its way into the gameplay, as one would expect with a Viking setting. Yet what has caught people by surprise is the chance to join the traditional Norse competition of "flyting".
The ritual of flyting was a poetic exchange of insults and criticisms, basically the old fashioned version of a rap battle. There are many examples of this practice within Norse mythology, including regular use by that old scamp, Loki.
So yes, the battles, the graphics and the storyline look fantastic already, but we’re just counting down the days ‘till we can offer some sweet rhymes and sick burns to our enemies.
