Yooka-Laylee: 6 Big Reasons To Be Very Excited

3. Incredible Worlds Put Together By The Best In The Business

Speaking of jungle caves, the Kickstarter showcases a few of the environments and music featuring in the game. As stated in the video, they’ve only been at it for three months, so not a great deal was shown, but what art can be viewed is gorgeous.

So far there’s a jungle world and a snow world (which is usually labelled as the “Christmas” world) complete with aurora borealis all localised entirely within Yooka-Laylee. It’ll be interesting to see what themed worlds will be crafted for you to explore, just so long as there are not too many ones where you have to rely on a chameleon and bat’s ability to swim (physiology is against them on that one).

The collectibles in the game - referred to as Pagies - are employed to expand current worlds as well as unlock the new ones. The more you collect the more open and challenging the worlds are going to become. Of course, that’s only if you want to spend your hard-earned Pagies on such things.

World expansion will not be integral to the progression of the game, as the Kickstarter page states you can take your time and explore everything the worlds have to offer at your own leisure - or just go in guns blazing, cream the final boss and skim your way through the credits.
