Yoshi's Crafted World Review: 5 Ups & 2 Downs
6. Down: Don't Expect To Be Too Challenged
Unsurprisingly, Yoshi's Crafted World does not go toe-to-toe with Sekiro in difficulty and challenge. This is a series known best for its happy-go-lucky, stress-free structure, and Crafted World maintains this. From the first level to the last, you'll never face anything particularly strenuous or difficult, allowing you to advance easily.
The greatest challenge can come in the often creatively-hidden collectibles like Smiley Flowers and special red tokens, but even those don't prove to be very demanding if you just make sure you remain perceptive of the environments. Boss battles largely rely on you memorizing pretty telegraphed move patterns and levels (while well-crafted and varied) just aren't very demanding.
Again, this is a part of the series identity, so it's not exactly surprising to see it repeated here. Admittedly, certain levels that follow a constantly-progressing camera prove to be something of a challenge if you're intent on getting every collectible as you're forced to progress whether you're ready to or not (Although this could be nullified if you have a second player who can pick up the slack).
However, if you're somewhat indifferent on gathering everything, your playing experience will be a breeze. A thoroughly enjoyable one, but a breeze nonetheless.
