Yoshi's Crafted World Review: 5 Ups & 2 Downs
5. Up: That Nintendo Charm
Crafted World reminds you of why it's so easy to love and appreciate Nintendo games. The company's child-like imagination and sense of wonder is constantly apparent in their games, making each one feel like they couldn't be replicated with any other company. CW continues this trend with a serious amount of heart at its core, befitting that of an indie title rather than a product from a billion-dollar company.
Whether it's the visual gags or just the way the game's immensely polished gameplay and quirky dialogue keep you smiling throughout, no moment feels wasted here. The developers have done what games like Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild did where they seem to transport you to an earlier, more innocent time in your life. Nintendo games excel in making you feel like a kid again and Crafted World revels in this.
The presentation, charming music, and cutesy everything bring you back to the early days of gaming when it was just about having fun and enjoying yourself. No corporate practices or microtransactions to impede your experience, just good old-fashioned fun.
