Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Best Signature Monsters From The Anime
8. Cyber Dragon
The signature card of Zane Truesdale, the top Duelist at the Duel Academy in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Cyber Dragon may just be the single card in this list that has seen the most competitive play.
Able to Special Summon itself from the hand when your opponent controls a monster and you don't, Cyber Dragon - a 2100 ATK LIGHT Machine monster - can fit into just about any deck. It's both a formidable anti-swarm device, and perfect fodder for a quick Synchro summon.
Despite its versatility, it was in Zane's original deck that Cyber Dragon truly shined.
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX was a golden period for the Fusion Summon, and Cyber Twin Dragon and Cyber End Dragon were amongst the most powerful monsters introduced in the anime.
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, meanwhile, allowed players to involve opponent's monsters in its Fusion summon, boasting a potential 10,000 ATK as it hit the field.
Being one of the first ever cards to get the Gold Rare treatment, Cyber Dragon achieved instant popularity. Though its sheer potential definitely contributed to this, its slick design - traditional Chinese dragon meets futuristic machinery - played a part in its appeal.
