Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Best Signature Monsters From The Anime
4. Red Eyes B. Dragon
Originally the key card of Dino lover Rex Raptor, the monster that became Joey Wheeler's signature creature was the elemental opposite of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
Although Red Eyes B. Dragon is weaker than its LIGHT counterpart, it was still one of the most powerful Normal monsters in the early days of Yu-Gi-Oh!, only losing out to Summoned Skull, Dark Magician and Blue Eyes in terms of ATK.
Despite being the weaker of the two dragons, Red Eyes and Blue Eyes have lived somewhat parallel lives, with certain support cards, such as The Black Stone of Legend and The White Stone of Legend, serving similar buffing purposes.
To balance out the playing field, however, the weaker monster's support tends to be more generous. The White Stone allows players to add a Blue Eyes from the deck to the hand after being sent to the Graveyard.
Meanwhile, the player can tribute The Black Stone straight away to special summon Red Eyes from the deck instantly. This little stone also boasting an additional ability, whereby it can recycle itself -- and other Red Eyes cards -- from the graveyard.
Although Joey Wheeler's ace monster might not be as powerful or memorable as Kaiba's, Konami has put out a wealth of support that has ensured Red Eyes' popularity amongst players in its own right.
