Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Best Signature Monsters From The Anime
3. The Winged Dragon Of Ra
While any Egyptian God card could have feasibly made this list, their figurehead, Marik's god of the gods, deserves to take the spot here - at the very least because in the anime, Ra was considered the most powerful card in the game.
And there's a simple reason for this - The Winged Dragon of Ra seemed to be able to do just about anything. In fact, when Ra finally got an official TCG release, its effect was so expansive that Konami split the Divide-Beast's abilities across three separate cards.
The Winged Dragon of Ra, The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode and The Winged Dragon of Ra - Immortal Phoenix all work together to represent different aspects of the god as seen in the anime. Sphere Mode has even seen some play in non-themed decks due to its ability to tribute monsters on the opponent's side of the field.
Although the official cards could never hope to match the sheer power of the gods as seen in the anime, Konami's decision to release playable versions appeased many fans. Splitting Ra's ability across three separate cards helped cement Ra's legendary status -- even if this was more in theory than in practice.
