Yu-Gi-Oh! 10 Powerful Cards So Good They Were Banned!

7. Summon Sorceress

Sorceress was a Link 3 Dark Spellcaster requiring at least 2 monsters of the same type that when link summoned allowed you to special summon a monster from the hand to a zone on the opponent’s field it pointed to. During your turn you could target a monster it pointed to, such as the one you summoned, and special summon a monster from your deck with the same type as that monster in defense with its effects negated.

This one card, similar to Firewall Dragon, spawned a myriad of degenerate OTKs and combos. In general cards that summon directly from the deck are considered by many to be "broken"and Summon Sorceress was no exception.

One of its most brutal and truly unique combos included summoning the relatively useless Dark Scorpion Burglars to your opponents field and using its effect to mill 3 copies of Jackpot 7 from your deck to the graveyard causing a win condition for you that normally would be impossible. Konami quickly banned the card from competitive play as it became apparent that the card was becoming the centerpiece for many problematic plays.
