Zelda: Breath Of The Wild: 10 Best Overworld Bosses

5. Thyphlo Ruins' Blue Hinox

Breath Of The Wild
Nintendo

Breath of the Wild players will definitely encounter a handful of Hinoxes in the game. There are, however, some that stand out as particularly fiendish challenges.

The Thyphlo Ruins are located to the north of the Great Hyrule Forest. Entering the forest will start the Shrouded Shrine quest and plunges the player into total darkness. Link must traverse the ruins with some sort of light source, before finally reaching the centre. The player must open the shrine with a shrine orb, which is unfortunately tied to the Blue Hinox’s neck.

If the player wakes it, they’ll have to fight the Hinox in total darkness, save the glowing orb and the Hinox’s yellow eye. This battle is made all the more difficult as the Blue Hinoxes also have protective wooden leg armour. They are also much smarter than their red counterparts.

It’s a tricky fight but can be avoided if the player sneaks onto the arm of the Hinox, waits for it to scratch its belly, and takes the orb off its neck without waking it.
