Also located in Hateno Village is an abandoned home. This home can actually be purchased by Link for 3000 Rupees and 10 wood bundles, which can grant several benefits. This is a completely optional part of the game that is never mentioned anywhere else outside of Hateno Village. To unlock the sidequests in Tarrey Town, Link needs to have bought this house. Doing this will start the questline.

After buying the house, Link can speak to Bolson to add other things like lights, a bed, a door and even more spaces to keep weapons. The house allows you to pass the time whenever you want, keep some of the rarer weapons and even has a cooking pot that always stays lit. These benefits make purchasing it well worthwhile, but the side quests that it unlocks are equally as important.

If you complete the side quest From The Ground Up located in Tarrey Town, not only will you get three diamonds but you will also unlock the use of Grante'. Grante' offers you the ability to re-buy any of the armour that you have come across in the game, and also lets you rebuy the Hylian Shield, provided you've already encountered it in Hyrule Castle.

The Hylian Shield can be found in the Keep of Hyrule Castle. It isn't easy to get but once unlocked, provides the highest shield durability in the game. If you do ever end up breaking it, it's good to know that you can always rebuy it from Grante'.
